So, hopefully you guys had time to check out last week's episode of Eden's Style (cough::: my YouTube show)...if not here is the link 😁 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pNmG9XZ71_A
Anyway, in said episode, our head Make Up Diva Leslie Homan breaks down the term "dupe." A dupe is a duplicate beauty product of a more expensive brand but CHEAPER! Who wants to go broke buying the expensive version when there's an equally effective, less expensive version? Exactly. So I decided in conjunction with the episode to bring you some pretty great dupes that I use.
First up is the NYX contouring palette. I'm not a big contour girl. I just like a little under eye highlight after you know, red eye flight and then I'm supposed to be on television looking awake?! 👀. Right. So in lieu of a more expensive brand you can check out NYX. Its comparable to MAC or Anastasia and it does the EXACT same thing. And another great thing? You can find it anywhere. Ulta, Target, drug store. You can't beat that with a stick.
Now if the powder contour palette is what you're looking for, head to Ulta. Ulta brand supplies a fantastic palette and it's very reasonably priced! Again, not a big contour gal but it never hurts to have all of the pieces available in your Arsenal in case you ever need it! So I have both a powder kit to highlight softly, and a cream kit for heavier duty jobs. I'm ready for any battle, any time, any place. Another sweet thing about the Ulta kit is that it provides you with an outline of how and where to contour, so if your completely clueless (like moi) it's a GREAT place to start playing around with your highlights and lowlights!
I get asked often what eyeliner I use. It's so easy and cheap it's going to blow your mind. Ok, ready? Maybeline. Are you still standing?? Cause I said...Maybeline. Alright. Pick yourself up off of the floor and compose yourself. I actually like a lot of Maybeline products! The liner I use is the Master Drama cream pencil in Midnight Master. That's all I ever use. I used to use MAC and then I discovered this. Easy glide-on pencil, very easy to control your lines and thickness. Super easy to line inside the eye with, AND available anywhere. Nothing stinks worse than running out of make up on the road. Nothing better than rolling into Target and picking up more in 5minutes time.
Continuing on my Maybeline love confession...they have some great mascara dupes as well. Most people know and like Great Lash. It's just simple and no fuss. Great to add a coat of thickness to your falsies, or pump up your naturals. Another good one for length and volume is Lash Sensational. My truest lash love is Better Than Sex by Too Faced....when I can't get ahold of that I reach for one of these Maybelines. They get the job done, very well!
Well now that you've officially attended dupe school, go forth into the world and make some great purchases! You'll find these all linked up on my Instagram if you want to go the online shopping route (my fave!). Try them all! They are affordable! Then write me and tell me how much you love them ❤️.
