Today I'm sharing a simple sugar cookie recipe! It's very easy to make, people tend to vary the amounts of butter and sugar they use when making a classic sugar cookie. I like mine gooey in the center. So that means, the more butter, the better! If you like less, go halvsies on the butter, egg and sugar amounts. 👌🏽 Alright, sugar cookies. Who doesn't love them? This is probably my favorite kind of cookie, especially around the holidays because they are great to cut, ice and decorate. But the simple sugar cookie can be a year round thing. Great for birthdays, special lunch treats, or just a snack to have around the house. Here's my take on this classic.
2 3/4 cups All purpose flour
1/2 tsp Baking powder
1 tsp Baking soda
2 cups Butter
2 cups Sugar
2 tsp Vanilla
First, mix your flour, baking powder and baking soda together in a bowl and then set aside.
Next cream together butter and sugar in a larger bowl. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla to taste. Mix in your dry mixture slowly while stirring.
Once your batter is complete, roll into balls and then set onto ungreased cookie sheet. I like to press them down with my hands a bit and flatten them out, but you don't have to!
Bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. Edges should be just barely golden and Te center should be nice and gooey. Leave in longer if you would like a more crispy texture to your cookie! Allow to fully cool, then sprinkle with sugar if desired...and then they are ready to eat!
These are such a hit, I often make one batch and keep half for my husband and I ,to pretend we aren't going to eat (and then we DEVOUR). Then the other half I give away to our dog sitters and house keeper. They seem to be fans (hopefully that's true and they aren't just being nice! 😂).
Let me know how you find this yummy recipe, and what your favorite way to enjoy a sugar cookie happens to be! Remember, share your comments here, rather than on social media. That way, everyone can enjoy!
