What time is it?? Doesn't matter, it's ALWAYS cocktail time at the Texas Rhodes House. I take my cocktails very seriously I will try anything. But I won't drink just anything. It's gotta be smooth and interesting in order for me to indulge. Cody and I arguably make the BEST mojitos in the world. That's coming in a later blog. Today, I'm sharing a much simpler cocktail recipe, because I've just perfected it. The clouds have parted, the bright light has shown and the Angels are singing. I've got my summer go to cocktail DOWN. And now I pass it along to you...
Behold: Eden's Lair (or Blueberry Acai Lemon Vodka Spritzer...) I prefer the first but, hey, whatever floats your boat. Here's what you need for the job:
San Pellegrino Limonata Sparkling
Lemon Martini Rimmer
Ice to your preference
Here's why so specific...so you can do this drink with any vodka. Some are way smoother than others. If you don't want that blueberry flavor then go with a brand like Deep Eddy or Titos. Those are the smoothest plain vodkas I know. But the best flavored vodka, and my favorite for years is Van Gogh. It's so delicious. The flavors explode in your mouth and so if you're making a particular drink (like a lemon spritzer) you're going to want that big flavor without a major alcohol bite. And let's be honest, the less you have to nurse it, the more you can drink and then BAM. Buzzin' in no time 👌🏽
So here's the instructions. Super easy. First prepare the rimmer. Cut a lime wedge and run it around the rim of your glass so it gets sticky. Then turn the glass upside down and rub the rim into the sugar mixture to coat. Then add ice, a full shot glass and a half of the vodka and then fill the rest of the glass with the sparkling San Pellegrino. Voila! You are finished, and able to enjoy!
This drink is so refreshing. The blueberry Acai balances out the tartness of the sparkling Limonata so nicely, it's the perfect mix of sweet and sour. Nothing screams summer time like these fresh and fun fruit combinations. This is perfect for your next party or mixer. It's almost too easy. You have to try it.
Now here comes the fun part. I want everyone to share their favorite cocktail recipes below please! That way all of my blog readers can share with one another and trade ideas. I might also be interested in, ya know, sampling...some ideas 😉.
Happy Cocktailing! 🍸🍹
